Ductless systems are good for our budget and good for the environment. It’s a win-win.
There are also a lot of choices available. Now, having options are great, but we know that a lot of them can leave customers feeling a little overwhelmed. That’s why we have The Comfort Zone—a showroom where people can personally look at the different Mitsubishi ductless solutions we offer. They can also speak one-on-one with one of our licensed professionals.
The Comfort Zone is located at 216 Marlboro Street in Keene. Stop on by! We look forward to welcoming you every weekday from 7 AM to 4 PM.

The federal government is aiming to have 12 million heat pumps installed in the United States over the next ten years. There are unprecedented tax breaks being given to home and business owners who move forward with installation. Rebates from the state government are available. Bergeron Mechanical Systems will further add to the financial benefits by offering 0 percent financing.
The value is there to be taken—from the upfront tax advantages and financing to the prospect of lower monthly costs. But we also know that people need to be comfortable when they make a change. That’s why we started The Comfort Zone—we want our customers to get a firsthand experience of what their ductless solution will be like before they buy. Experience, then buy.
The challenge and the solution
An old-school, conventional HVAC system runs on a simple formula—go full power until it reaches the temperature requested by the thermostat, and then turn on and off again to maintain that temperature. We’ve all had the experience of a frigid New Hampshire winter day and hearing the heat start up and then stop again repeatedly—sometimes within the same hour. Each time the system turns on its noisy outdoor unit, it uses more energy than it does during regular operation.
Ductless systems can’t make our winters any milder, but they can ensure that hot air (or cold air on a summer day) is delivered much more efficiently. That starts with the INVERTER.
Think of the INVERTER like your own heart—which is appropriate because the INVERTER really is the heart of the ductless HVAC unit. Your own heart gradually increases its rate to meet your needs of the moment (easing into the day after waking up, exercising, etc.) It doesn’t dramatically shut down and crank back up. A healthy heart works silently, calmly adjusting itself to your needs at a particular moment.
So too, does the INVERTER. It automatically adjusts conditioning when its temperature sensors detect even subtle changes. You don’t have to think about it, and the system is so quiet you won’t hear it either. Rooms are cooled and heated faster and more efficiently. The INVERTER regulates energy consumption so that the system only uses the precise amount of energy needed to keep each room at the temperature you choose.
This is greener and more sustainable than running at full power like conventional systems and can reduce energy consumption by up to 40 percent.

AT BERGERON MECHANICAL SYSTEMS, WE ARE WORKING HARD TO MINIMIZE OUR NEGATIVE IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT!
How ductless systems work
The ductless system allows you, as the property owner, to target air delivery to the rooms and spaces where it’s needed most. A conventional HVAC just heats or cools the entire home or building.
But most homes have some rooms that are used more than others. The home office where we may work remotely. The living room and den area where people gather. These are the rooms you may want to keep at maximum comfort. The ductless system allows you to target them.
The essential components of a zoned air conditioning and heating system are the outdoor unit, the indoor unit, and the smart comfort controls. The system operates by transferring heat to and from an outdoor unit to one or more indoor units. The units are connected by pipes containing refrigerant, a substance that absorbs heat.
Ductless systems come in two different types:
- Single-Zone System: This is ideal if you only need cooling and heating in a single space.
- Multi-Zone Systems: These are designed for cooling and heating multiple spaces.
Within these two options is an array of cutting-edge technologies, which may or may not be included with different models. The trained professionals at The Comfort Zone will be sure to walk through all of this with you.
The technology
The different technologies attached to Mitsubishi products and what they do, include the following:
- H2i plus™ takes hyper-heating technology to a new level providing 100% heating capacity down to -5°F outdoor ambient (without wind chill) temperature. It’s ideal for climates like ours.
- 3D i-see Sensor® increases the sensitivity of the system to your comfort needs and gives you opportunities to further customize comfort in your home or business. The sensor scans each room to produce a complete thermal profile that includes heat signatures based on size, temperature, and movement. With this capability, the 3D i-see Sensor can detect and eliminate cold or hot spots and can determine whether a room is occupied.
- Econo Cool adjusts the amount of air directed toward occupants based on the air-outlet temperature.
- Nano-platinum Filter incorporates nanometer-sized platinum ceramic particles that kill bacteria and deodorize air.
- Electro-static Anti-Allergy Enzyme Filters attract and capture dust particles, molds, and bacteria and break them down with enzymes.
- Swing Mode can move air throughout the room like an oscillating fan.
- Powerful Mode temporarily drops or raises the set temperature for 15 minutes so that automatic fan speed adjustments made possible by the INVERTER will more quickly bring your room to your desired temperature.
- Direct Airflow will send airflow directly toward the occupant.
- Indirect Airflow is useful when the occupant does not wish to have air blowing directly on them.
- Absence Detection is for when no one is in the room. The 3D i-see Sensor can direct your indoor units to enter an energy-saving mode.
- Advanced Occupant Detection Select ceiling-recessed indoor unit models are equipped with sensors that rotate a full 360º in three-minute intervals. This allows the units to detect human body temperature and use an algorithm that calculates the number of people in the room as well as their positions.
Our indoor units don’t just keep each room in your home at the perfect temperature; they continuously clean the air.
